About Me
I am an experienced Counsellor and psychotherapist. I have a BSc(hons) in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). I am an accredited registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and as such, I have a detailed understanding of the BACP professional conduct ethical framework and I apply such standards with clients. I have extensive experience working with adults, couples and individuals aged 16+. I am committed to delivering psychodynamic counselling both short-term and open ended and, I follow the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) using evidence-based guidelines recommended treatment methods whilst working with CBT.
Qualifying in both these modalities enables me to work integrative. Being trained in both brief and long term work, I offer a confidential and non-judgemental environment , encouraging a safe space to enable you to explore and share difficult thoughts and memories.

Anxiety
Anxiety is a feeling of unease, such as dread and fear. It can be mild for some people or severe. We all experience anxiety at points in our lives, for example, you are worried about an exam, or interview. during these time feeling anxious is a normal response to the situation. It is when the anxiety feels out of control and how this affects out day to day life that it can have a debilitating impact on us.
Depression
Relationships
Depression is an intense feeling of hopelessness. It can last for days, weeks or months and interrupts our daily life. Sometime we can have these feelings when associated with a loss or traumatic life event. Some of the signs of depression are:
Low mood most of the day.
Lack of energy.
Feelings of worthless or guilt.
Sleep disturbance
Suicidal thoughts.
Weight loss, or gain.
When relationships breakdown we may feel that sense of loss, it can be overwhelming. Counselling can help you to work through these challenging emotions and help you to come to terms with this new change in circumstance.

Any situation that leaves you feeling overwhelmed and isolated can result in trauma, even if it didn't involve physical harm. The more frightened and helpless you feel, the more likely you are to suffer trauma. There is no right to wrong way to feel, respond or think. Your responses are normal reactions to abnormal events.

Bereavement can cause many symptoms, and they affect people in varying ways. There is no right way to feel.
Some symptoms are:
Shock and numbness
Overwhelming sadness
Tiredness and exhaustion
Anger
Guilt.
These feelings may not be there at the same time and some overwhelming feelings may appear unexpectedly.
